# The Decentralized Operating System
You can think of **Pulse AP** as a global network of computers working together to power applications built for robotics, automation, and beyond. Users can store data and run code without relying on a centralized provider.
It allows developers to access remote servers, storage, and software as easily as opening an app. The best part is that everything is verified and stored on the blockchain.
Our unified interface, called the **Virtual Desktop**, gives you access to every **Pulse AP** service. This means you can manage decentralized applications, co-chains, and assets from one simple place, just like any familiar desktop environment.
**Pulse AP** operates on three core services: compute, storage, and access. These form the foundation, and every other layer builds on top.
